About the Game
Discover the possibilities of our arsenal, with weapons, gear, and abilities that are equal parts authentic and creative. Explore different tactical approaches to any situation, whether you’re setting an ambush or taking back the initiative. Build your own unique loadouts that match your playstyle. From Beetles to Tarot Cards, there’s a tool for every job. Lightweight inventory management keeps you focused on the game rather than your backpack. Survive and level up your Hunter. But don’t get complacent, as even the best gear won’t save you. Combat is balanced so that everyone has a fair chance.
The world has teeth. Experience ravaged landscapes and twisted monstrosities deep in the forgotten corners of the American West. With four massive maps, transformative weather conditions, and fresh changes every season, you’ll always have something new to see. Whether you’re outrunning a wildfire or stalking under the cover of heavy rain, make no mistake: From Mammon’s Gulch to Lawson Delta, the Corruption has seeped into everything.
Rely on your ears just as much as your eyes. Sound is vital: the warning cries of nearby monsters. Dogs barking in the distance at enemy Hunters on your trail. The metallic clinks of a weapon being reloaded in the other room. From creaking floorboards to snapping twigs, every sound could make the difference between survival and disaster. So, watch where you step. Hold your fire when you can. And if you find your ears are left wanting more, listen to the haunting melodies of Port Sulphur Band, exclusive to Hunt: Showdown 1896.
Danger lurks around every corner. The dead have risen and are hungry, but rival players are the deadlier threat. The gunshots will close in from every direction. Every Hunter is competing for the same prize, which turns every match into a deadly showdown. When you finally make contact, ride the adrenaline rush. Every second matters, every bullet counts, and the smallest decisions will seal your fate. The biggest risks for the highest rewards.
Trust is survival. Choose your team wisely as another pair of eyes can be the difference between life and death. Share your triumph in duos or trios. When you’re ready, take the challenge hunting solo. Relish your hard-earned victories, it’s taking the bounty that matters. Whether your match ended in a haul of loot or the cold embrace of death, know your fellow Hunters have walked that same line. As they say, Hunt Giveth or Hunt Taketh.
Express the way you play. Recruit from a diverse roster of Hunters, including Wild West gunslingers, twisted fanatics, and legendary warriors from further afield. Arm them with an array of distinctive weapons, from exquisite firearms to brutal, improvised hammers. With hundreds of unlocks and customizations beyond your Hunter and gear, no one will Hunt quite like you.
