This unit works frequent services between Lichfield Trent Valley, Four Oaks and Birmingham New Street, onward to its two southern destinations of Redditch, and since 2018, Bromsgrove, which lies at the foot of the famed Lickey Incline, the steepest sustained mainline gradient in Britain.
The Cross-City Line itself is packed with rich history and culture. The earliest sections of the line date back to the 1830s, although it wasn’t considered a single network until the 1970s.
